Kate's intricately ornate cake was more incredible than I could even imagine. The Fiona Cairns creation took five weeks to make and had eight tiers, each incorporating the sweetest little details, including - ivy leaves along the cake's base symbolizing marriage/daisies symbolizing innocence, and the bridal rose symbolizing happiness on the bottom three tiers/garlands and lattice work to reflect the architectural details in the room on the fifth tier/the couples' initials intertwined on the sixth tier/and a showcasing of the four flowers of the home nations - the English rose, the Scottish thistle, the Welsh daffodil and the Irish shamrock on the seventh tier. The cake was topped by a heather and the end result was magnificent.

William's chocolate biscuit cake, covered in chocolate lotus flowers was done by McVities Cake Company and made from a Royal Family recipe. Yum.

The Royal Wedding Dress

Kate Middleton (now the Duchess of Cambridge) is officially a princess. William and herself have exchanged vows and are now man and wife.

Kate arrived at Westminster Abbey in an exquisite lacy white gown by Sarah Burton, creative director of Alexander McQueen. The gown, with a dramatic veil and a moderately long train (8.8 feet to be exact), was accented by the Cartier "Halo" Tiara, (made in 1936 and given to the Queen by her father as an 18th birthday present - the Queen gave it to Kate for the day). Her shoes (a gift from Sarah Burton) were ivory-colored and lace hand-embroidered. Rumor has it that she did her own makeup for the day.

Long live the future queen!

The bid day is finally here!

Catherine Elizabeth Middleton is expected to wed Prince William of Wales, second in line of succession to the British throne today at Westminster Abbey. I can't wait to see what Kate wears, and I can't wait to take in the grandeur of the day. There is nothing more magical than a royal wedding.
